Farmington Clear Aligner Treatment
How do Clear Aligners Work?
Like popular clear aligners systems, SureSmile uses a digital replica of your bite to program where each tooth needs to move. From there, the software will straighten teeth by mapping out tiny pressure points and changes in each set of alignment trays.
Wear your SureSmile trays as directed. Usually, that’s a minimum of 22 hours a day, which gives you plenty of time to take them out during meals and for brushing and flossing. The more you wear them, the more predictable the process will be.
Every two weeks (unless otherwise directed) change your clear aligners out with the next set in the series. Each set of trays is slightly different than the last, continuing your tooth movement in a transparent and predictable manner. Our Farmington dentist will plan to see you about once every other month to ensure your smile is progressing as it ought to.
Advantages of SureSmile
Farmington SureSmile patients can enjoy benefits like:
No dietary restrictions
Simplified home care
Discreet clear aligners
Digitally precise results
Promotes better oral hygiene over traditional braces which make teeth hard to clean
Trays will not cut open the interior of the mouth like traditional braces
Dental office visits are less frequent than traditional braces
When you straighten teeth that were previously crowded or misaligned, you also reduce your risk of tooth decay and gum disease. And since SureSmile is easy to clean, you’ll enjoy improved oral health from day one. In fact, some experts recommend investing in treatment to straighten teeth for better management of gum disease.
SureSmile Patient Experience
Benefits compared to traditional braces
Both traditional braces and Invisalign will treat a wide variety of cases that include teeth crowding, spacing issues, crossbites, over-bites and under-bites. The best thing about Invisalign however, is that it virtually invisible to the naked eye and can be taken out whenever you need. This allows for better oral hygiene and more enjoyable meals. Patients with traditional braces have often complained of discomfort due to the metal fixtures involved, but with Invisalign the uncomfortable metal is replaced with smooth plastic.
Most invisible aligner treatments take anywhere from 6-24 months to complete, with 12 months being the average. Everyone is different. We can provide you with an estimated timeframe at the time of your consultation.
Some insurance plans do cover braces and other orthodontic systems like clear aligners (SureSmile, Invisalign, etc.) Our treatment coordinators will communicate with your carrier to help you maximize any coverage you’re entitled to. Be sure to ask about our affordable payment plan options!
Most adults and teens qualify for removable alignment trays. However, there are some exceptions. The best way to find out if SureSmile is right for you is to reserve a no-fuss assessment with our Farmington dentist first.
No, you’re not. SureSmile is great for adults of all ages, even if you’re a grandparent or recent retiree! There are no age maximum limits for enjoying straighter, healthier teeth.
